our statement

throughout history, humans have consistently made time for what is not strictly necessary — from cave paintings to musical instruments, and slow-cooked meals. these practices endure not because they are essential for survival, but because they make us human.

tea, in many ways, embodies this truth. nearly every culture has woven tea into daily life, dedicating centuries to perfecting the preparation of the same plant, yet in countless unique ways. it is a ritual, a source of comfort, and a thread linking generations.

we are two college students trying to travel the world, immersing ourselves in tea culture. we stayed with farmers, harvested leaves, and learned directly from the communities who have cultivated tea for centuries. we came to see tea as a gateway into people’s stories. what they cherish, how they care for others, and how they find personal moments of stillness.

tea has had a turbulent history, commentating on many social issues that still pervade our society today. in being curious about tea, we can understand how to move forward as a society that can relax, care for its people, and reward passion.

we want to share these stories and the rich history behind teas around the world. maybe more people will be inspired to reconnect — with their ancestors, with others, and with themselves
